81% of all iPhones are running iOS 16

Because iOS is iOS and Android has variable degrees of manufacturer skins that must be adjusted to a new version, iOS has always been faster to reach devices than Android. Undoubtedly, the fact that Apple produces both the hardware and the software also helps.
You won't be surprised to learn that 81% of iPhones are currently running iOS 16. The percentage rises to 90% if we restrict our analysis to just iPhones released in the previous four years.
iOS 15 is installed on 13% of all iPhones (and 8% of those released in the last four years), while the remaining 73% boot a previous version. so there's that.
When compared, it appears that Android 13 has had a significant increase in adoption. Over 12% of Android smartphones and tablets already run Android 13, according to the most recent data from Google.
on contrast, Android 12 had only received 13.3% acceptance when it first appeared on the distribution graph, over a year after its release.
iPadOS 16 is already installed on 71% of all iPads, with iPadOS 15 operating on 20% of all iPads. Again receiving a 76% market share for iPads sold during the previous four years, iPadOS 16 is followed by iPadOS 15 with 18%.
