A Google Pixel Fold coming alongside Pixel 6?

Updated: Sep 24, 2021

Back in August 2020, we heard about the first Pixel foldable device codenamed “passport”. This device was predicted to arrive sometime in Q4 this year, now according to a reliable leaker @evleaks it’s indeed coming.

So Google has been working on its first foldable pixel smartphone for about two years and is about to release it by the end of 2021. Now there’s a big chance that it will be coming at the Pixel 6 Pro launch event or maybe sometime later or maybe google will present a teaser or something’s like that at the pixel 6 pro launch event.

The Senior Director at Display Supply Chain Consultants David Naranjo, has stated that the Pixel “passport” is in the list of devices which will feature the LTPO Display tech, which can change the refresh rate dynamically depending on the content on the screen.

You can also see iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max are on the list as well which has 120Hz LTPO OLED panels.

But that’s not only it, the foldable Pixel can be seen in the upcoming Android 12.1 update. The update brings several new changes and features to improve the user experience on foldable phones like a hidden taskbar much like the one you can find in the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and better split-screen functionality.

Now google is publicly showing off the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, these devices are hugely important for Google’s smartphone division. But is it that google is trying to hide the pixel fold behind the whole show off drama with pixel 6 and the pixel 6 pro?

It won’t be long to find out, sometimes October..
