Apple appears to be reconsidering the controversial changes to the iPhone 15's design

Updated: Dec 21, 2022

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, a well-known leaker ShrimpApplePro have both said that the iPhone 15 will feature a redesigned design. The latter has most recently added that the iPhone 14's squared-off rear will be replaced with rounded corners. But, according to a recent source, nothing is finalised yet.

It's simple to concentrate on noticeable design elements like camera array design, notch cutouts, and display curvature, but unimportant features like back design are really crucial.

Apple has alternated between a flat look and rounded edges, and it is obvious that each design has its own fan base. Although some claim that a phone with a side frame that curves towards the back is more comfortable to grip and easy to carry around for long. But some says the flat-edged design of the iPhone 14 appear more luxurious. On the other hand, many people believe that curvy iPhones are too slippery, whereas those that are boxy are thought to be easy to pick up from flat surfaces.

According to LeaksApplePro, Apple is still undecided on the design of the iPhone 15 and hasn't committed to the device's curved edges either. Apple still has time to consider this, as the iPhone 14's design was purportedly finalised in late March. However, the corporation does not wait until the last minute to make such judgments, so this is not very encouraging.

This year, there has also been a recurring rumour that Apple is considering adopting titanium for the iPhone 15 series.

According to LeaksApplePro, the most expensive model—possibly to be called the iPhone 15 Ultra—will be the only one to use the premium materials. They have also made it clear that only the sides will be constructed of titanium, with the back being made of glass.

According to past speculations, the iPhone 15 series may replace physical buttons with solid-state ones and is almost certain to contain a USB C port in place of the Lightning connector. But the best news has to be Dynamic Island and the 48MP Main camera from the iPhone 14 Pro are reportedly coming to the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus. These features alone will make the iPhone 15 standard models to be very good choices.

There's a chance that the more expensive iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Ultra will include a new Sony sensor with improved light-gathering abilities, according to a recent rumor. A periscope camera might possibly be included on the iPhone 15 Ultra for improved zoom capabilities of upto 5x.
