Biggest WearOS 4 improvement is here

Samsung recently integrated its One UI 5 Watch beta for its Galaxy Watch4 and Watch5 series into Google's Wear OS 4 Beta software. The option to switch phones without having to reset your watch may be one of the most intriguing new features added to Wear OS.


Every time you switch phones, the current Wear OS 3.5 version and Samsung's matching One UI Watch 4.5 version require you to factory reset your smartwatch.

The programme gives you the option to fully backup your settings and preferences, but some items, such as third-party watch faces and the order of the app drawer's icons, are lost in the process.

That's no longer necessary with One UI Watch 5's beta, though. A popup will ask you if the Google account on your watch matches the one on the new smartphone after the transfer procedure to the new phone has begun.

It's likely crucial to point out that because the Galaxy Watch5 was used to test this capability, devices running Wear OS 4 stock may not be able to use it. But there's a fair probability that everyone will get it because we think this is basic functionality.
