Exynos 2200 chip for phones and laptops, coming to rival Apple M1 with AMD GPU
The powerful Apple M1 chipset was announced for Mac computers in November, it changed the game totally with its groundbreaking performance and battery efficiency and Apple Recently unveiled that the newest iPad Pro models will feature the same M1.
According to a new report coming out of South Korea via Korea Economic Daily, Samsung will launch its next flagship Exynos chipset (probably Exynos 2200) in the second half of this year, and that it will feature AMD Radeon GPU designed for low-power devices.
Samsung and AMD could take on Apple's M1 with the Exynos 2200
The company has been in collaboration with AMD for the past two years to develop a powerful mobile GPU that is better than ARM’s Mali series. However, it wasn’t clear if the processor would be for smartphones or laptops. Now, more information about it has been revealed.
According to the source Samsung has plans to announce a high-end Exynos 2200 chipset in the second half of 2021.
Samsung’s next-gen Exynos processor is going to be built on the 5-nanometer manufacturing process.This chipset will reportedly be manufactured using Samsung Foundry’s own 5nm fabrication process. The report states that the upcoming Exynos processor will feature “extraordinary computing power and battery efficiency.”
Initially, Samsung is expected to use it inside a Windows-powered laptop, but eventually the chipset use will be expanded to other devices.
Specifically mentioned in the report is the possibility that Samsung may include it inside future smartphones, that surely isn’t the galaxy z fold 3 or flip 3, check out my recent video on these two
The Galaxy S22, Galaxy Tab S8 or Galaxy Z Fold Tab seems to be the perfect bet If it makes its way to phones which it should if they are trying to compete with apple. This chipset could also feature built-in 5G connectivity and advanced wireless technologies like Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi 6E.
