Exynos 2200 launch reportedly postponed by Samsung

We all are waiting for the Exynos 2200 since forever. Mostly because Samsung announced last year that they have partnered with AMD for its next gen SoCs. Exynos 2100 was the first time Samsung improved greatly from the predecessor of that chip the hot hunk Exynos 990.

Samsung took the ARM cores as CPU cores and Mali™-G78 as the GPU but even with all the improvements it wasn’t fully ready to compete with the snapdragon 888, Which was way more efficient and powerful even having the identical CPU cores. So Samsung has chosen AMD made RDNA-2 GPU as the GPU for the upcoming flagship Exynos 2200 SoC, which will reportedly crush the competition.

Recently Samsung teased that the SOC is coming toady (11th Jan). Samsung has already teased the Exynos 2200 multiple times but now they have removed all those teasers

From social media. Odd.However, we may have to wait a tad longer for that to happen. Famous leaker Ice Universe has stated that Samsung may have pushed back the Exynos 2200 launch date.

Now we also hearing that the Galaxy S22 series is expected to drop on February 8. Samsung will unlikely unveil both its flagship smartphone and SoC alltogether, So if Samsung is planning to bring the Galaxy S22 series powered by Exynos 2200 to some markets, then they defiantly have to launch the SoC before the launch of the flagship. I’m expecting maybe in few weeks.

Based on what we’ve seen of the Exynos 2200 so far, it still is behind the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 in terms of CPU performance as well as the MediaTek Dimensity 9000, which is also a crazy good chipset this year. So it will be interesting to see how all these chips will perform against each other.
