Face ID will no longer be at risk even after a DIY screen replacement

We know how Apple pairs the Face ID module with the logic board. But with the recent iPhone 13 series Apple decided to take it to another level. They paired in such a way that if you replace the screen it will Disable the Face ID. It’s due to the microcontroller on the display.

The process of moving over the microcontroller is so complex that most independent repair shops won’t be able to do at all. These decisions from Apple are pretty much intentional. But now Apple has told The Verge that it plans on pushing a software update that will allow Face ID to continue working even after a screen replacement. So any uncertified third party repair shops will be allowed to do screen repairs without any hassles.
