Galaxy S21 FE might get cancelled says company official

Just recently We reported that the long waited Samsung Galaxy S21 FE has entered into mass production. The device was expected to go official alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 5G on August 11 but due to some production issues & global chip shortage supposedly caused whole delay.

On Sunday, according to a report from Korea, a Samsung official is saying "We canceled the Galaxy S21FE online unpacking, which was planned for mid-October," and said, "We are reviewing the smartphone launch itself."

According to the report, there are two reasons why Samsung is thinking about cancelling the device. Let me say it again, it’s not cancelled yet but Samsung might cancel this device. First reason is the global chip shortage the Galaxy S21 FE which was rumoured to be powered by the Snapdragon 5nm 888 chipset.

We have even seen the user manual of the phone too. The phone is that confirmed. But now hearing that it might be cancelled after all is really disappointing.

Recently launched Galaxy Z Flip 3 is reportedly selling beyond Samsung's early expectations. That might be the reason why Samsung wants to use all the snapdragon 888 chip it has, inside one of the best selling foldable device instead of the Galaxy S21 FE.

Now on top of that recently Apple launched IPhone 13 series that includes iPhone 13mini, iPhone 13 and the iPhone 13 pro series. At the same time Apple is still selling devices like iPhone 12 and 12 mini at far lesser price. On top of that Google is advertising their upcoming Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro like crazy. So Samsung has to consider whether or not the Galaxy S21 FE stands a chance against this harsh competition.

Now If Samsung decides not to cancel the device, it could launch it in limited markets and we might be able to see the launch sometime in October.
