Galaxy Z Fold 4 camera specs leaked

Samsung is the undisputed king at the moment if you are talking about the foldable smartphones but recently we saw companies like Oppo Xiaomi Huawei are jumping into the segment with pretty impressive foldable devices and some other manufacturers are apparently gearing up to release foldable devices too. This year Samsung will have to fight harder to keep its hold onto the foldable phones market share.
Even though if you look at the Galaxy Z Fold 4 CAD based renders, it looks almost similar to current model. You can check out my past video for that and I don’t think it needs that drastic improvements in most of the areas at least this year but one area in need of improvement is the camera and it looks like the Samsung is doing it.
We have been hearing rumours that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will have a way better camera array than the Fold 3. The current model features a 12MP primary sensor, a 12MP telephoto module with 2x optical zoom, and a 12MP ultrawide unit. Now that’s not a flagship grade camera setup for a Galaxy Flagship.
Now that’s about to change according to reliable leaker Ice Universe. The tipster says the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will feature a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide angle sensor, and a 12MP telephoto unit with 3x optical zoom. Which is slightly disappointing considering we expected it to have a 108MP main camera. But that’s still an big upgrade.
Ice adds that this would be Samsung's best 3x telephoto unit ever, better than the current 3x sensor of the Galaxy S22 Ultra - and this could make the Galaxy Z Fold 4 one of the best camera phones of the year, though this is still not enough to beat the S22 Ultra considering it also has a 10x periscope lens. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 will have a Galaxy S22 Ultra-like water drop camera array.
But keep this in mind Samsung isn’t only trying to improve the foldable phone camera system. They will improve the durability of the whole phone including the main display. The phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus which will be 10% faster compared to the current 8 Gen 1 and will be manufactured by TSMC. Samsung will unveil the phone in August alongside the Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Watch 5 series smartwatches.
