Google Pixel 6 Pro new camera features leaked

Updated: Sep 28, 2021

Thanks to a new report by XDA Developers we have more infos about the google pixel 6 camera features, thanks to some code found in a leaked, unofficial version of the Google Camera app.

Even though past google pixels phones had good photo quality but they had never the top of line camera hardware. They were even using one camera when every other brand moved to at least dual cameras. But this year they are stepping up the camera game with the upcoming Pixel 6 series to bring it on par with other flagships on the market.

XDA found out unofficial new Google Camera app's code that hints at a special feature the Pixel 6 may hold. The code:

gcaConfigOverride.override(GeneralKeys.CAM_ULTRA_WIDE_FRONT_ENABLED, deviceProperties.isPixelRaven());

Now, "raven" is the code name that Google has given to the Pixel 6 Pro, "oriole." Is the code name of the Pixel 6.

The line of code means nothing to normal users. According to the programmers over at XDA, this means the Pixel 6 Pro model will feature an ultra-wide angle front camera lens, unfortunately not coming to the standard Pixel 6.

In the past Google Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3 XL had same feature. XDA discovered a code value for the Pixel 6 Pro frontSupportedUWDefaultToggleBarZoomRatioMap

its common to both the Pixel 3 and 3 XL as well.

According to them, the Pixel 6 Pro selfie camera will have two built-in zoom levels: 0.7X and 1.0X.

The telephoto, ultra-wide and front cameras in both the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will be able shoot in 4K at 30fps.

Also the Pixel 6 series will allow users to smoothly switch between all of the available lenses while shooting in 4K at 30fps, without pausing or stopping the video much like the iPhone.

On the pixel 6 pro video zooming will be limited to 7X and Photo zooming maxes out at 20X. Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will also feature Audio Zoom, so you can zoom in on a subject and it will enhance the sound coming from the subject, reducing background noise as much as possible. This feature comes in handy in situations like concerts and all.
