A source who sent the images to Android Central said that the Pixel Watch was left and found at a restaurant in the U.S.
It’s possible that the watch will not be revealed but teased at the Google I/O next month but will be released alongside the Pixel 7.
The source said the watch could be “a testing model for the Internal Pixel team,” that’s why it has few extra things on it. The source also requested Android Central to not publish their identity or the restaurant name, location, or anything like that.
This is the same thing happened when Gizmodo reported about the iPhone 4 prototype that was found at a bar.
The Google Pixel watch internally dubbed as “Rohan.” A filing with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) reveals that Google has requested a trademark for the name "Pixel Watch." We also saw google store has a page dedicated to watch.
9to5Google found the code that reveals the Pixel Watch will use an Exynos chipset instead of Snapdragon.
The watch images almost identical to past renders by FPT on YouTube. It has a very elegant, minimal and circular design and the screen will have hardly any bezels. The frame of the watch is definitely made of metal. It looks really different and cool.
We can also see the watch will have a rotating crown and potentially two buttons which was also leaked in the past.
But one thing that was leaked and very much talked about in the past was the watch’s bands. Now it looks like these bands gonna be proprietary Google band unlike Samsung like apple and it even looks very similar to some Apple Watch bands. We might also see different types of watch bands and colours.
But we don’t have any infos on the charger, as no charger was left behind with the watch. The watch could be charged from the back like the Fitbit’s Versa 3 and Sense smartwatches.
In one image we can see proprietary pins in one of the band slots. This must be here because it’s an engineering testing sample.
The source also said that nothing happened after the boot logo when they tried to power it up, this can be because there’s no OS installed on the watch. But it will offer the new Wear OS 3 that they co-developed with Samsung with their own skin on top.
As for the availability, it will be available in US, Canada, and the Europe. But that’s a speculation looking at the past track records.
