Google’s Tensor SoC is a Samsung Exynos chip?

Google recently announced that they are gonna release the pixel 6 and 6 pro which will feature google’s own custom silicon, Tensor SoC. Google Pixel phones like every other manufacturers previously used Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors. Now they are trying to become More like apple.

But google hasn’t revealed specs of the Tensor SoC as of now. Now some new information has surfaced which is clearly showing that Tensor is actually a Samsung Exynos chip

We already have seen a lot of leaks that are suggesting that Google has co-developed its mobile processor with Samsung. Not just that even the chip is produced by Samsung using its own 5nm fabrication process.

Last year It was first reported that Samsung is working on two new high-end Exynos chipsets, one with AMD GPU and the other one without – the Exynos 9925 and Exynos 9855.

According to a new report, the Exynos 9855 has the codename Whitechapel which is pretty much known as the Google silicon at this point. So a practical guess would say that Google’s Tensor SoC is the unreleased Exynos 9855.

The flagship Exynos 2100‘S internal model number was Exynos 9840. The Exynos 9925 is the Exynos 2200 with AMD GPU.

Now Going by the model numbers, Googles’s Tensor is going to be much closer in performance to the current flagship chip from Samsung, Exynos 2100.

So we can say its a chip that will go against chips like snapdragon 888 and even the A14 Bionic.

On top of the flagship performance, the tensor will have dedicated part for the AI advancement. It will be interesting to see.
