Here's your first look at the Galaxy Z Flip 5 & Z fold 5 renders
Updated: May 20
The Galaxy Z Flip 5 is Samsung’s upcoming foldable phone that will have a new design to compete with Chinese rivals. Leaks have already suggested that the phone will have a bigger 3.4" cover screen. But now we have some factory CAD renders from Onleaks (MediaPeanut).
The outer screen is the most noticeable change, as it is now 3.4 inches, compared to the Flip 4’s 1.9 inches screen. The rear cameras are also arranged horizontally instead of vertically and Frankly it looks like a folder shaped screen. The Flip 4’s outer screen can only show basic information and functions, but the Z Flip 5’s larger screen will hopefully be much more functional even ice universe said that Samsung is actually working on the software to fit the weird looking screen.

The rest of the design is not very different. The inner screen is still 6.7 inches but the device is slightly smaller and thinner when unfolded. It measures 165 x 71.8 x 6.7mm, while the Flip 4 measures 165.2 x 71.9 x 6.9 mm.
The thinness when folded is a result of a new hinge design that will enable the display to fold inside the hinge in a way that will create a shape like waterdrop which will reduce the visibility of the crease and make the device fold completely flat and the Fold 5 will also have the same hinge. As for all the other things you can check out my recent article.

Now lets talk about the Galaxy Z fold 5 Renders by OnLeaks (Smartprix) The Galaxy Z Fold 5 is rumored to measure 154.9 x 129.9 x 6.3mm when opened, and 154.9 x 67.1 x 13.5mm when closed. The device will be slimmer than its predecessor when closed, as it was 14.2mm-15.8mm thick due to the hinge used last year. But overall design isn't seeing any major change. The unfolded dimension also is almost same as the current Galaxy Z Fold 4.

As for the other things it will have a 6.2-inch Cover Screen with an AMOLED display, a 120Hz refresh rate, and an FHD+ resolution. The internal AMOLED screen will be 7.6 inches, and have a 120Hz refresh rate and a brighter panel. The device will be powered by the overclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy, the same chipset found on the Galaxy S23 series. It will also have different LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage options. Some of the image sensors may be new and better than the ones on the 2022 model but the resolutions of any sensors aren't expected to be changed.
Samsung may have its next Unpacked event earlier than last year in late July. This will reduce the gap between the launch date of the Pixel Fold (rumored to be June 27th) and the shipping date for the Galaxy Z Fold 5.
