Massive Pixel 6 Pro leak: Tensor configuration, camera & display specs revealed
Updated: Sep 19, 2021
Google has already revealed that its upcoming flagships will be powered by the custom made Tensor SoC but no specs were shared. Thanks to XDA Developers' Mishaal Rahman's latest report we have some new infos that also matching up with a recent geekbench listing leak.
According to him the information came from a leaker who wants to remain anonymous. According to the recent geekbench leak, the Tensor processor has two super cores possibly Cortex X1 running at 2.8Ghz, two high performance cores clocked at 2.25Ghz, and four high efficiency cores clocked at 1.8GHz.
Although the latest information mentions no exact microarchitecture of the CPU cores or even the clock speeds, it does say the same thing the 2+2+4 configuration. It’s really a odd kinda setup considering
the current and even the next flagship chips from Qualcomm and Samsung have a 1+3+4 configuration.
For example the Snapdragon 888 and Exynos 2100 has one “Prime Core” based on a ARM Cortex-X1 architecture. Three performance cores are based on the A78 and four energy saving cores are based on the ARM Cortex-A55 architecture. That doesn’t mean Google’s Tensor SoC configuration is bad by any means or weak rather it’s very unusual.
Either way, nothing is sure until the official announcement, which is expected sometime in October and I am really excited to see how this new configuration will impact the performance and battery life in good or bad way. According to past reports, the chip will be made by Samsung using their own 5nm fabrication process.
Moving on, according to both reports pixel 6 pro will have 12GB of (LPDDR5) RAM and 128GB of base storage. The phone will also come with an 848MHz Mali-G78 GPU and will be equipped with the Samsung Exynos 5123 5G modem (g5123b). You can also expect Wi-Fi 6E support. The phone will have a 5000mAh battery with Battery Share feature.
The display will have 120Hz refresh rate and has a resolution of 3120 x 1440. But it’s unknown whether it will have LTPO display tech or not but hope that it will be present.
The Pixel 6 Pro also feature UWB chip and under display finger print scanner.
The biggest upgrade coming to the pixel 6 series is in the form of cameras. Pixel 6 Pro will have the Samsung 50MP GN1 sensor for the main camera, 12MP Sony IMX386 sensor as the wide-angle camera, and Sony’s 48MP IMX586 sensor will be used as the telephoto snapper, with 4X optical zoom support and 12MP punch hole Selfie camera.
Even though these are gonna be flagships by google by we still don’t have any infos about the pricing.
But At least these two Pixel will have software support for 5 years, that’s exciting. Anyway, these two will be announced on October 19. So we have to wait.
