Oppo M1 a 3nm flagship mobile chipset

Recently google revealed Pixel 6 & Pixel 6 Pro powered by Google's Own Custom SoC, Tensor SoC. Now, Oppo is working on smartphone SoC for its flagship smartphones according to a new report from Nikkei Asia. A trademark application that emerged back in 2019 which indiacted that the company is working on custom SoCs, maybe they saw how a little change in US export rules changed the Huawei's future in a bad way.
Why Oppo should build it's own custom SoC? Oppo is currently the world's fourth-largest smartphone maker and definitely an in-house SoC would give it much more control over everything the SoC is set out to do and it also helps reduce its reliance on chipmakers like Qualcomm and MediaTek or even US.
The first smartphone SoC is expected at some point between 2023 and 2024. It might be called the Oppo M1 (hopefully it won't have Pro and Max Variant). It will be based on TSMC's 3nm process. That's all the specs we know as of now.
Apple has their own SoC for it's smartphone, Samsung has their own Exynos silicon, Huawei has their own Kirin chips, Google just introduced their own custom SoC, tensor and Microsoft is also developing their own for their surface devices. So the chip war has already begun. Why not Oppo then? Why not even Xiaomi? Oppo's parent company BBK Electronics also own OnePlus and Vivo, thats why i'm not gonna ask Why not OnePlus?
Oppo has allegedly hired top talent and artificial intelligence experts from Huawei, MediaTek, and Qualcomm. it will definitely be interesting to see how their own SoC will be like.
