Our First Live Look at the Galaxy Z Fold 5

We know what the Galaxy Z fold 5 will look like thanks to variety of renders and leaked marketing materials but no real life look until recently. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 even though will be a very small upgrade visually from the Galaxy Z fold 4. it will still be great of a Foldable smartphone in the market like US and Canada. The biggest upgrades according many reports are in the Hinge and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy Chipset department. In these photos one thing is very much visible, the water drop hinge. This is the first time Samsung is gonna implement this type of hinge. Even though most other foldable smartphones have been using this hinge for little long. This hinge will actually allow the foldable plastic display to fold inside the hinge in a way that it will create a shape like waterdrop. Which in turn will allow the device to not have that deep crease when opened and when closed there will be no gap between the two halves of the foldable smartphone.

We have also heard recently that because of the hinge the Freestop/Flex mode isn't working that well. But we know that Samsung will do something about that. But what Samsung couldn’t do according to ice universe is reducing the deep crease that much. It is about 15% less visible. That’s it.

Now coming back to the other improvements custom snapdragon 8 Gen2 is something we have already seen inside the Galaxy S23 series, but the same chipset with 1x3.2 GHz Cortex-X3 & 2x2.8 GHz Cortex-A715 & 2x2.8 GHz Cortex-A710 & 3x2.0 GHz Cortex-A510 config still performs better than it did inside the Galaxy S23 Series maybe due to better optimization and Cooling system. Other than that visually it will be slightly thinner even when folded and will have slightly narrower bezels. At the back the camera bump is very much identical to the Galaxy Z Fold 4 But with slight differences.

Similar to the current Galaxy Z Fold 4, the 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will boast a 1-120Hz refresh rate and 1,200 nits of brightness. Although the brightness of the cover screen (6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X, 48-120Hz) and other specifications are unknown, they do not appear to have changed. The camera setup appears to remain unaltered as well. According to reports, the main system consists of a 12MP ultra-wide, a 10MP telephoto, and a 50MP primary camera. Then, a 10MP selfie sensor is included into the cover screen, and a 4MP under-display camera is hidden by the foldable panel. Similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 4, the Fold 5 should be powered by a 4,400mAh twin battery with 25W charging. By the way we might see a slight reduction in launch price. 26th of july is the Launch date.
