Pixel 7a - Everything you need to know

The Google Pixel 6a was one of the best cheap Android phones in 2022, thanks to its impressive performance, excellent cameras, and high-quality build. We expect the Pixel 7a to look very similar to the Pixel 7 at a quick glance, just like the Pixel 6a copied the design of the Pixel 6, with that eye-catching rectangular camera visor but definitely with the new features and style of the Google pixel 7 and Google Pixel 7 Pro.

However, the 7a does seem to keep the Pixel 6a’s thick bezel. With the Pixel 7, Google took the camera bar and gave it a single aluminum bar to hold the main and ultrawide angle camera, along with the flash. That’ll likely be the same story for the Pixel 7a. But if Google wants to save some on manufacturing costs, and thus keep the Pixel 7a’s price low, the aluminum could be swapped by polycarbonate. But the frame is still going to be aluminum made and the rear is made out of plastic. Renders that have appeared online show off a device that looks very much like the Pixel 6a, which isn’t a big surprise. It’s unlikely that Google would make any major design changes on its cheapest handset, instead saving them for a future flagship. Smartpix, which published the renders, even said that the Pixel 7a would be roughly the same size as its predecessor. 6.0 x 2.87 x 0.35 inches, compared to the Pixel 6a’s 5.99 x 2.82 x 0.35 inches.

As for specs, The 7a will have an OLED display with 6.1 inches of diagonal size and a resolution of 2400 x 1080. The best part is that unlike the pixel 6a's 60Hz screen this new pixel device will have a 90 Hz panel. That’s a big improvement. Over in a Vietnamese Facebook group, a device, allegedly an early version of the Pixel 7a, leaked, showing off the design and display specs.

As for the camers the device will come with 64MP IMX787 camera as main camera, 13MP Sony IMX712 ultrawide camera and 8MP front hole punch camera with IMX355 sensor.

The Tensor G2 enables features like Photo Unblur on top of that to give you that pixel experience, which can make your blurry images look sharper. And Talking about the tensor G2 chip, this chip is also used inside the bigger Pixel models. So the flagship performance at the low end pixel Pixel 7a is also going to make it more attractive. Twitter leaker SnoopyTech shared a bunch of blurry renders and UI screenshots of the upcoming Pixel 7a, which show us that face unlocking would be added alongside the under-display fingerprint scanner in the pixel 7a thanks to the new Tensor G2 chip.

The Pixel 7a will come in white, grey, and light blue. The Pixel 7a might have 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The 8GB RAM will be a big increase from the current 6GB that the Pixel 6a has. A leakster now claims that, for the first time, Pixel 7a buyers will be offered more storage options. Google will reportedly offer a 256GB Pixel 7a model, too, for the first time on its A-series of affordable handsets. Battery size for the Pixel 7a is likely to stay unchanged from the Pixel 6a’s 4,410 mAh cell. But it will have 5 watt wireless charging as an option alongside standard fast charging from google.
