Pixel Fold won't be coming at Google I/O in May anymore.

As usual, the Next Google I/O developer conference is scheduled to begin in early May. Google expanded its ecosystem last year by using the event to unveil photos of the Pixel 7 series, the Pixel Watch, and the Pixel Tablet. This year, we anticipated that Google will introduce the mid-range Pixel 7a and the Pixel Fold, the company's first foldable phone, during the developer conference.

This year, we anticipated that Google will introduce the mid-range Pixel 7a and the Pixel Fold, the company's first foldable phone, during the developer conference.

But The Pixel Fold won't be completed in time to see the light of day in May, according to The Elec (via AndroidHeadlines).

According to the story, Google is experiencing issues with the foldable's two panels, which are both supplied from Samsung. The inner display is a 7.57-inch screen, while the outer "cover screen" is a 5.78-inch panel. As we have said, according to The Elec, Samsung Display won't begin mass producing the two screens until July or August, ruling out a May release of the product.

Given the delay in obtaining the Pixel Fold's screens, October, when Google typically introduces and distributes the Pixel Flagships, would be the most reasonable period to anticipate the delivery of the Pixel Fold.

The Pixel Fold won't be cheap; the base model, which is believed to come with 12GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, will cost around the same as the Galaxy Z Fold 4 ($1,799).
