Full Galaxy s23 ultra camera ( isocell HP2) specs are here

The ISOCELL HP2 was unveiled by Samsung on Tuesday as its third 200MP camera sensor. The sensor uses a 1/1.3-inch optical format and 200 million 0.6-micrometer (μm) pixels. The HP2 is now being produced in bulk.

The sensor uses advanced pixel-binning technology called Tetra2pixel. Tetra2pixel is a cutting-edge pixel-binning technique used by the sensor. This enables the sensor to alter pixel sizes in response to ambient light levels. The sensor can record 50MP photos at 1.2μm (4:1 pixel binning) or 12.5MP photographs at 2.4μm in low light (16:1 pixel binning).

As for the video, The HP2 changes to 1.2 m 50MP mode for richer 8K video( 33MP), to reduce cropping and capture more of the scene. A broad field of vision and larger pixel size when shooting in 8K at 30 frames per second (fps) can result in clear cinematic looking videos.

Dual Vertical Transfer Gate (D-VTG) technology from Samsung will improve colour reproduction and will lessen overexposure. There will be fewer photos taken in strong lighting that are washed out as a consequence.

Talking about the low light, The HP2's Super QPD function, which employs all 200 million pixels of the sensor as focusing agents, will significantly enhance focusing in low-light conditions. As a result, even in dimly lit environments, auto-focusing is quicker and more precise. The sufficient focusing agents are grouped by four neighbouring pixels, In 50MP mode, the HP2 will utilise DSG (Dual Signal Gain) for the first time to enhance HDR (High Dynamic Range) images.

The camera will be able to record 4K video at 60 frames per second in HDR and 12.5MP still photographs thanks to the Smart-ISO Pro function.

At the next Samsung Unpacked event on February 1st, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and the rest of the Galaxy S23 series will be presented. By the way, both the Xiaomi 12T Pro and the Motorola 30 Edge Ultra use the ISOCELL HP1 200MP sensor. Another 200MP picture sensor from Samsung, the ISOCELL HP3, was unveiled in June of last year but its not present in any phones yet.

We anticipate the Galaxy S23 Ultra to come equipped with two 10MP telephoto cameras in addition to its 200MP main camera. While the other has a 10x optical zoom, the first has a 3x optical zoom. A 12MP ultra-wide camera and a 12MP front-facing selfie camera will also be present. Rumor has claimed that the selfie camera will include a pro mode and dual pixel technology to increase its capabilities. However, the sensor will still be 12 MP. The Galaxy S22 Ultra offers a 40MP selfie camera for comparison.

The Ultra model will come with a 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED screen that has a 1440 x 3880 QHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz. a 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen2 overclocked under the hood, along with, 12GB of Max RAM, and 256GB of base storage. The 5000mAh battery powers 15W wireless fast charging and 45W wired fast charging.
