Galaxy S22 Ultra will feature a new lens and 45W fast charging according to new leaks
Updated: Jan 7, 2022
We know almost everything about the upcoming Samsung flagship, the Galaxy S22 Ultra. Today we have new leaks thanks to Zaryab Khan.
We can see the display specs from this specs sheet. The Ultra model will feature a 6.8 inch QHD+ (3080 x 1440) Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel where as the Galaxy S21 will feature 6.1 inch FHD+ (2340 x 1080 )Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel. Now if you haven’t seen the past leaks then let me tell you, the ultra model is the only one which is rumoured to feature a curvy panel. Other two devices will have flat panels. As for what’s visibly new in standard model’s display, the no chin or should I say razor thin bezels all around which will be really interesting to look at according to past leaks.
What's seemingly new is a 'Super Clear Lens' that will be on top of the 108MP main camera, which is probably why leaker ice universe claimed it will be greatly improved iteration of HM3 Sensor. It will also feature deep AI implementation for crispy detailed photos of any 108MP sensors, we have seen till today.
Aside from the main camera there will be a 12MP ultra-wide camera and two 10MP telephoto sensors one with 10x and one with 3x zoom capabilities. The front camera is going to be 40MP.
Also this leak kinda confirming the colour options or should I say cleared all the doubts regarding the colour options of both device at once. The Galaxy S22 Ultra model will feature the Burgundy red colour as well as Phantom Black, Phantom White, and Green.
Other than that, there isn't anything new here. This specs sheet appears to be for the European variant. That’s the reason we can see the processor is the unannounced 4nm Exynos 2200 with AMD GPU. The US and Chinese variants will likely be powered by the recently announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
Reliable leaker Ice Universe, as well as a new Geekbench listings saying that that the Galaxy S22 Ultra could also come in 8 GB RAM variant right beside 12 and 16GB of RAM options. Depending on the ultra’s base model price will be a Good or a bad news. Even though in these leaks there’s no mentions of 16GB model as well as rumoured 1TB Storage options. Maybe that’s not coming to EU.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra will pack a 5,000mAh cell and will also feature built-in S Pen slot. Where’s the standard model will not feature any S-Pen support and will come with a small 3700mAh battery inside.
In terms of charging speed Samsung, in particular, has gone back and forth between 25W and 45W fast charging with their past phones. The Galaxy Note 10+ and the Galaxy S20 Ultra featured 45W fast charging which wasn’t anymore faster compared to the 25W one. Now the Galaxy S22 Ultra will be bringing back the same charging capabilities, maybe this time a properly better one.

This post is leaked by Twitter user Roland Quandt.
He has published an image of the Samsung 45W PD charger’s box with model number EP-T4510. This will be able to charge the Galaxy S22 Ultra and the Galaxy S22+ from 0-70% for as little as 30 minutes. Which would be enough fast for most people. I know it’s not going to be as fast as Xiaomi’s 125W one but still it will be an improvement nonetheless. But keep this in mind “no charger in the box” is a thing as well.
