This year the standard iPhone got a big brother instead of an younger one. This year the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 plus will replace the iPhone 13 and 13 mini. So let’s take a look at the top 5 features of the iPhone 14 standard models.
First has to be the 6.7 inch bright super retina XDR OLED Dolby vision HDR display that comes with 1200nits of peak brightness. But it also comes with a notch just like the iPhone 13 series. But these two devices comes with Ceramic Shield protection on top of the displays which is actually a great thing.
The next feature has to be the battery life. Apple is claiming that the iPhone 14 Plus will have best battery life even in an iPhone. A very big statement.
This year the performance even though getting an upgrade but just as we heard it, these two models will come with A15 bionic from iPhone 13 Pro series that has which is technically a better variant of the A15 bionic of the iPhone 13.
The next improvement is in the cameras, both models will come with a new 12 Main camera which is a larger sensor compared to last years model and it will have f/1.5 aperture and 1.9um size pixels with sensor shift stabilisation tech. The front camera is also upgraded one
12MP f/1.9 with autofocus. Apple also announced Photonics engine, which will help the phones to produce much crisper and detailed shots in both bright and low light senarios. Apple claims larger sensors, More advanced lenses, intelligent software and apple silicon will allow the phones to take incredible photos in low light.
Apple will finally allow the iPhone 14 models to take gimbal like steady videos directly from the camera app that too with Dolby vision HDR on.
iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 plus has the same crash detection feature as the watch series 8 thanks to new high dynamic range gyroscope and dual core accelerometer. And the biggest feature would be the Emergency SOS via satellite. This feature is free for 2 years from now. It will only allow you to send messages using satellite frequencies but do keep this in mind it’s not gonna be super fast. One small message could take few secs to even few minutes. This is all possible thanks to apples custom hardwares and softwares. This feature will only work in US and Canada starting November.
The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 plus comes with 5 different colours: Midnight, Starlight, Blue, Purple and product RED. iPhone 14 models will be eSim only in the US. As for the pricing the iPhone 14 starting at $799 and 14 Plus will start at $899. Pre-order starting Sept 9th and the iPhone 14 will be available on Sept 16th and the plus model will be available on Oct 7th.
