Samsung promises five years of security updates to some Galaxy phones

Samsung is currently the best in the industry in terms of releasing Android software updates faster and longer. Last year, Samsung had promised that it will release security updates to its flagship devices for up to four years. Now they have increased that to five years but for some Galaxy smartphones.
The enterprise edition variants of the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, Galaxy S20 Ultra, Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, Galaxy XCover 5, and the Galaxy Tab Active 3 will get security and maintenance updates for five years from their launch date. All other enterprise devices from Samsung will get four years of updates.

These Galaxy smartphones are designed for businesses only. These updates will be released in a monthly or quarterly fashion, depending on the device.
As for the consumer version of these phones, Samsung might also release five years of security updates.
