Regulatory docs shows Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 will have this massive upgrade over Watch 4

Updated: Jun 17, 2022

Unlike the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 we don’t have as much infos about the Galaxy Watch 5 and the watch 5 pro. Recently we heard that Samsung might just ditch the Classic variant and its physical rotating bezel, and replace it with a premium Pro variant which will take design cues from the Galaxy Watch 4.

Reliable leader Ice universe had previously indicated that the Watch 5 Pro would have very big bezels, and it will be one of the most ugliest smartwatches in the market. And so much so that the leaker believes that the design gap between Samsung's smartwatches and Apple's watches will grow. The Apple Watch Series 7 has a square design with very minimal bezels for context

So maybe hearing ice, you might feel bad but do keep this in mind we still have to wait for at least real life hands on leak or maybe official release to consider whether its that bad or its not.

FCC's newest certification documents (via 9to5Google) showing a bunch of details on three Samsung products carrying model numbers SM-R900, SM-R910, and SM-R920.

Because Samsung is dropping the “Classic” lineup, so the R900 refers to the smaller Galaxy Watch 5, R910 to the larger variant, and R920 to the “Pro” model.

Now the most interesting part, fast charging and big numbers are very common nowadays in the android smartphone world. Many of the same companies who are also making smartwatches, aren’t taking any steps towards the charging speed upgrade of the smartwatches.

Existing Galaxy smartwatches have up to 5W charging capabilities. And since there are no faster-charging Galaxy watches, existing chargers for the devices also top out at 5W. Now this 10W charging would be perfect. According to the past leaks, the 40mm Watch5 will be powered by a 276mAh battery which is 12 percent larger than the 40mm Watch4’s 247mAh, while the 44mm model could get a 10 percent bump to 397mAh up from 361mAh in the Watch4. Whereas the Pro model is expected to have an massive 572mAh battery, almost 60 percent larger than the biggest battery of any Galaxy Watch 4 model.

If you don’t know, the Apple Watch Series 7 needs around 45 minutes to top up, which is something we can also expect for the Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro series if not better.
