Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 will have a bigger screen than the Oppo Find N2 Flip

Updated: Feb 23

The well-known tech leaker Ice Universe, said in a tweet that the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will have a larger cover display than the Oppo Find N2 Flip. The Oppo Find N2 Flip debuted worldwide last week and is positioned as one of Samsung's main competitors with regard to its clamshell foldable.

The Galaxy Z Flip 4 is still among the best foldable phones to purchase in 2023, or probably overall the best one in the market. In most Western markets, Samsung does not encounter much rivalry, which is one reason for this. Nevertheless, with other brands anticipated to enter the foldable market in 2023, this situation may change and Samsung may need to improve its game.

The exterior screen of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is expected to be significantly bigger or should I say as big as possible, covering the whole back of the device and including holes for the cameras as explained by IceUniverce. The recently revealed forthcoming Motorola Razr foldable also resembles the design.

Comparing the Galaxy Z Flip 5 to Samsung's earlier Flip phones, which featured small cover screens that were only suitable for basic widgets and information at a glance, this would undoubtedly increase the utility of the device as a whole.

According to earlier reports by IceUniverse on the subject, the exterior display of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will probably be larger than the Oppo Find N2 Flip's, which measures 3.26 inches wide. Thus, Samsung's upcoming small foldable phone might have a diagonal measurement of between between 3.5 and 4 inches.

The Galaxy Z Flip 5 will undoubtedly be much, much simpler to use when it is folded that would increase your usability and adaptability.

You'll likely be able to do things like see who tweeted what, check your Instagram feed for the most recent updates, react to emails, and so on. If the total functionality is anything like the Galaxy Z Fold 4's external display, which offers a fully-fledged Android interface for you to use anyway you see fit, we wouldn't be shocked.

Moreover, the potential for a square external display creates design adjustments for the back camera configuration. Samsung will undoubtedly need to reposition them, maybe even flipping them horizontally, in order to make room for the bigger screen.

Other than that, not much is known about the flip phone. Earlier speculations suggested that Samsung may be looking into a new hinge design that would get rid of the noticeable mid-display wrinkle that has plagued the majority of Samsung folding phones up until this point and may also reduce the footprint or even weight.

We anticipate Samsung will equip the Z Flip 5 with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy, a slightly modified version of the standard Qualcomm processor that offers exceptional performance to the new Galaxy S23 series with massive efficiency gains. It appears like Qualcomm may be the exclusive source of processors for Samsung's top devices for some time.

Although the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will have a larger secondary screen, it still needs more to be successful. The screen crease and the gap that develops when the devices are folded are two challenges that many other foldable device makers have managed to solve. To maintain its position as the leader in the foldable market, Samsung will likely need to make improvements in only these two categories.
