Xiaomi won't be launching any new 'Mi' products

Xiaomi is the world’s biggest smartphone manufacturer right now. It has many sub-brands — Mi, Redmi, and Poco, this is what made them successful.

In a statement to XDA Developers, Xiaomi has announced that starting this quarter it will ditch the ‘Mi’ brand name in favour of the full ‘Xiaomi’ name.

Xiaomi Mix 4 flagship is the first xiaomi smartphone to do that. But Redmi and Poco branded products will continue to use their own name respectively.

More Importantly, this doesn’t only apply to smartphones. Anything that currently uses the ‘Mi’ name that includes smart home products, laptops, TVs, and everything else. will gradually drop ‘Mi’ name to replace it with Xiaomi brand name.
